WHEN:

Ended

WHERE:

Los Angeles

WHAT:

Get an in-depth look at the exhibition Reigning Men: Fashion in Menswear, 1715–2015 in this gallery course.

An introductory lecture provides context to understanding the history of men’s fashion. Follow the evolution of style from the opulent Macaroni of the 18th century, to the refined and exquisitely tailored suits worn by the 19th century dandy, to the colorful styles of 1960s London, and, finally, to the ultra-chic skinny suits worn today. Learn about connections between history and high fashion. Trace cultural influences over the centuries and examine how elements of the uniform have profoundly shaped fashionable dress.

Enjoy a private gallery tour of the exhibition following the lecture. With art historian and museum educator Amber Smith.
