Antonio Lopez: A Photo Cocktail Party

WHERE:

New York

WHAT:

Join El Museo del Barrio for ANTONIO LOPEZ: A Photo Cocktail Party during New York Fashion Week! This pop-up installation at The Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art’s satellite space, The Prince Street Project, will pay homage to the legendary 1979 party hosted by Antonio Lopez and his creative partner Juan Ramos at New York City’s Robert Freidus Gallery. In the spirit of the artistic “happening”, Lopez and Ramos invited party-goers to pose for a large-format Polaroid camera and installed the images directly on the gallery walls to document the ephemeral party experience.
