"Enamelling is an ancient art and a mysterious alchemy dating back to 16th century BC. Today enamellers continue to push the boundaries of how they can apply powdered glass onto metal surfaces to create their very best work.
The story of this complex and colourful craft is told through examples of contemporary enamelling by distinguished members of the British Society of Enamellers (BSoE), such as Jane Short, Ruth Ball, Tamar de Vries Winter, Phil Barnes, Sheila McDonald (pictured), Alex Raphael and Joan Mackarell, as well as work from new graduates such as Sophie Warringham & Mark Newman, with examples of commercial & industrial enamelling."
