Chicmi Coronavirus Update

The COVID-19 Coronavirus has been causing disruption around the world. At Chicmi, we're doing all we can to keep on top of the outbreak, and the impact on fashion events and sample sales in your city.

When lockdown occurred most in-person events were cancelled, postponed or moved online - although many are slowly coming back now. Most organisers are implementing strict entry requirements, such as mandatory face coverings and timeslots.

What should I do?

Personally we're still sticking to the fabulous online sample sales - get your shopping fix that way!

If you feel like attending a particular in-person event, please make sure you follow all the guidelines included in the listing. Plus, please click I'm Going or RSVP on the event page on Chicmi, so that we can send you an email if we hear of any last minute changes or cancellations.

Whenever we hear that an event is cancelled or postponed we'll email everyone who clicked I'm Going or RSVP, and also show it clearly on the event page. Click Follow on the brands featured in the event and we'll let you know when they're rescheduled.

We recommend that you thoroughly read the CDC's Prevention Advice - and if you are feeling ill then we request that you do not go to any events, so that you can reduce the risk of spreading an infection to others.

And please do wear a mask, wash your hands regularly, and avoid touching your face with unwashed hands! Stay safe and happy shopping! ❤️

What should brands do?

We recommend you check out the CDC's Advice for Event Planners regularly and plan accordingly.

Although in-person events are slowly returning, turnout is still not high and some events are still being cancelled or postponed. If you do postpone or cancel your event, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can inform our readers and save them travelling to venues unnecessarily. You can email us at team@chicmi.com and we'll take immediate action.

If you were planning a sample sale, you could also consider arranging an online sample sale and shipping to customers instead - we run those regularly on our site and they can be super effective. You can find out more about Online Sample Sales here.

What is Chicmi doing?

We are working really hard to keep an accurate calendar, showing what's happening in your city. We don't currently recommend attending events, but there is so much incorrect and outdated information online, we think it's important to continue to do our jobs, so that people can make an informed decision.

We're also working with a number of great brands to convert their sample sales to online sample sales - so that you can still get your shopping fix while you're stuck at home!

And we're consulting with many brands and event organisers to plan for the future, help them get the word out about changes and cancellations, and advise them on what's happening in their area.
