Stitching a New Identity: Fashion in Israel’s Nation Building

WHEN:

Thu November 3rd 2022
Ended

WHERE:

New York

WHAT:

Enjoy a presentation investigating the relationship between fashion, national identity, and diplomacy, using the state of Israel from its inception in the 1940s through the present day as a case study. With vibrant illustrations, photographs, and never-before-seen archival materials, you will explore key moments, designers, and political figures who shaped Israel’s foreign relations and — even more importantly — defined what it means to be Israeli. Israeli fashion is highly encouraged.
