At this wonderfully illustrated talk, leading fashion historian Caroline Evans brings together exciting research from her book The Mechanical Smile: Modernism and the First Fashion Shows (Yale, 2013) that presents the history of fashion shows in the context of business, commerce, consumption, women, work and art.
