Join London-based Japanese fashion entrepreneurs at this Kimono Talk as they share nuggets of wisdom on navigating towards a sustainable fashion future using their traditional cultural practices and background! Explore how the Kimono can be enjoyed and worn as a part of your everyday sustainable life with a detailed, instructed run through with demonstrations on the art of wearing kimono, traditionally and contemporarily! Sonoe Sugawara, the London-based vintage kimono dealer and the owner of Furuki Yo-Kimono Vintage will be lending her expertise in a talk surrounding Japanese sustainable fashion and why old is gold - plus Yumi Sakaki, the Creative Director of 4649.REC creates bespoke pieces from her mother’s collection of kimonos as a way of reconnecting to our identities while constructing a sustainable future. Shoko Tanoue, the Kimono enthusiast and stylist will also be demonstrating live the art of “how to wear” a kimono!
